A curated exhibition celebrating contemporary art and emerging talent.
The Mill Gallery is proud to announce The Open 2026, a curated group exhibition bringing together a dynamic selection of contemporary artwork from emerging and established artists across the UK.
Showcasing work across painting, sculpture, digital, drawing, and printmaking, The Open 2026 celebrates the breadth and diversity of contemporary artistic practice. The exhibition aims to highlight work that demonstrates originality, clarity of vision, and strong material or conceptual exploration, offering audiences the opportunity to experience a wide range of approaches, themes, and perspectives within a professional gallery setting.
Rooted in The Mill Gallery’s artist-led ethos, the exhibition continues the gallery’s commitment to creating accessible opportunities for artists to present work to new and engaged audiences. Selected artists will exhibit as part of a thoughtfully curated exhibition programme that supports dialogue, visibility, and connection within Leeds’ growing creative community.
The Open 2026 will also mark the first exhibition presented within The Mill Gallery’s updated exhibition space. The redesigned layout introduces a more focused and considered environment for exhibiting contemporary work, supporting a stronger viewing experience while remaining centred on the artwork itself.
“We’re really excited to bring together such a broad and engaging range of contemporary work for The Open 2026,” said Lucy Morrison, curator at The Mill Gallery. “The exhibition is about creating space for artists at different stages of their careers to share ambitious, thoughtful, and exciting work with new audiences.”
We hope you can join us for the opening event on Friday 19th June from 6:30pm, where visitors will have the opportunity to experience the exhibition, meet artists, and engage with contemporary practice, everyone is welcome.
