The Caring Kind Project is a new initiative working to harness the kindness of the hospitality, leisure, tourism, and culture sectors to give West Yorkshire’s unpaid carers a well-deserved break. These are family members, friends, and neighbours who quietly care for loved ones — often at great personal cost and little recognition. We aim to reward their dedication with something simple, yet so meaningful—a break. Whether it’s a weekend at a spa hotel, an evening at the theatre, or dinner with a friend, we source and match unpaid carers with free breaks given by generous local businesses and organisation.
