Leeds City College

We are the main provider of 16-19 further education in the city and at our brand new state of the art campus at Quarry Hill we offer full-time courses across all major art forms: music performance, performing arts, art & design, film & TV, graphic design, computer games design, photography, backstage arts, journalism, music technology and technical theatre. We also offer degree level study in most of these subjects on the same site. If you are creative, we have something for you so come through the doors and find out.

We want to be the main port of call for all young, and not so young, creatives across the city who wish to undertake a serious study of the arts. Our new central location makes us easy to find and we want you to feel comfortable coming through the doors to see what our students are creating, present your own work, chat with staff and map out your future route forward. Look out for our many open days and information events and prepare to show us what you’ve got. We’d love that!

“I recently graduated from BA (Hons) Art Enterprise. The lecturing team and technical support staff are hands on, and so friendly, they have heaps of knowledge and experience within their respective practices which is fantastic when developing your own practice as an artist.” Aamta Tul Waheed

We are part of Arts Together because we firmly believe that some of the most creative people and organisations in the city are still, for many valid reasons, hiding their light. Leeds City College wants to be one of the places where that light starts to shine through.

People you may meet

  • Ken Reid

Hi, I have worked within Creative Arts at Leeds City College for many years. I'm hoping that our new building at Quarry Hill can become a central venue for artists, musicians, performers, film makers and promoters of wellbeing throughout our city. I'm a lifelong Sunderland supporter so please be gentle with me when we meet.

Hi. I have worked in further education at Leeds City College for over 20 years and am lucky enough to be the Curriculum & Operations Director for our new campus at Quarry Hill. I am a total believer in the power of education, how it can shape our communities by influencing social mobility and ultimately change the lives of individuals and those around them for the better. I’m also a devotee to the holiday resort of Benidorm and happy to expel some myths about it should you be curious….

  • Sheila Lucciarini

Hi. I have worked at the college in a variety of roles for the last 16 years. I will be based as the new Quarry Hill campus as Head of Childcare, Education and Public Services and have in the past taught creativity and the arts to support children's learning, which I believe is fundamental to inspiring critical thinking and enquiring minds. I am also a mad Springer Spaniel fan, and have a lot of dogs who have taken over my life!
