Kirskstall Art Trail

We are a volunteer-led organisation based in the heart of Kirkstall. We organise a summer art trail that hosts a variety of free exhibitions and activities.
Artists and creative organisations, both professional and amateur, can apply to get involved. We encourage artists from all backgrounds to take part, and we offer help for those who may need it (if workable). We want everyone to feel that art is for them.
Our aim is to create a space that helps visitors make better-informed decisions before they visit. It is our commitment to give clear, accessible information that can help people plan their visit.
We are part of Arts Together because we want to make the Art Trail as accessible for people as we can. Where everyone feels art is for them, no matter their background.

I am one of the volunteer organisers at Kirkstall Art Trail, and the committee secretary. I also look after the website content and have embedded accessibility in its design. My background includes working with people with learning disabilities at an arts organisation. I had to leave work due after becoming disabled. It has shown me how hard life can be without prior planning. I’m proud that Kirkstall Art Trail has strong disability representation and that I can be that advocate. I am also an artist; I work with illustration and with photography. I love colour, patterns, and textures and feel most comfortable when there is a lot going on—my interior style is maximalist!”
