Hyde Park Source

Hyde Park Source: “Improving people’s health and wellbeing through improving the environment”. Our 5 principles are Connect, Be Active, Keep Learning, Take Notice and Give. We work across Leeds running weekly, adult Community Garden groups and supporting people to get outdoors, be active and feel well. We provide Outdoor Education sessions for children and their families learning about nature, food growing, crafts and cooking. We support communities to transform their unused spaces with our Design & Build team (upskilling volunteers in the process) to making new gardens. We also support, collaborate and work with other organisations with similar aims.

We have lots of opportunities to get involved with, whether that be as a
Community Garden Volunteer, an Outdoor Education Volunteer, a Design & Build Volunteer or a member of our Management Committee. We run trips, events and workshops to bring our Volunteers together across the groups, and encourage people to share their views and steer the projects through our bi-monthly Rep’s Group. We are a friendly organisation, we value our amazing Volunteers so why not get in touch and join the family!

“All the staff are so kind and patient. At my first session, I felt so welcomed, it felt like a group focused on the growth of not only plants, but more importantly growth of individuals. Each week there is something exciting to learn and I find it a welcome relief from what can be a monotonous lifestyle in this day-and-age.”

We are part of Arts Together because …
The Arts are fundamental to what it means to be human. They give people a sense of hope, inspiration, a different perspective, an escape, joy, a sense of togetherness. We want to encourage and improve access to the arts for the communities we work with, and Arts Together is brilliant at doing this.
