Amplifying young voices in opera: A conversation with Dame Judith Weir, Dr Scott McLaughlin, John Barber and Jacqui Cameron.
Join us to discuss the underappreciated tradition of opera composition and performance for young singers. We hear from composers about the challenges and opportunities of engaging young performers in opera in terms of music and staging, and consider the tradition’s potential for broadening and strengthening opera’s future.
This event will be chaired by Dr Katie Gardner, Lecturer in Arts-based Pedagogical Practices at the University of Leeds and DARE Academic-in-Residence.
