Unlocked – Inspiration from Isolation
About the event
Whilst many theatres and arts companies across the country have been forced to close during the Coronavirus pandemic, Space2 continued to deliver a range of social support and arts initiatives to local communities.
Space2 works on placing arts at the heart of our community, through a collaboration with local people and professional artists. They encourage under-represented communities and those with low engagement of publicly funded art to grow as creative citizens and to take a valued role in the arts through co-producing a range of multi-disciplinary projects, exhibitions, performances, outdoor events, books and virtual galleries.
Every week, between April and October, arts and wellbeing packs were curated by Jelena Zindovic from Space2 and delivered to families and individuals across Gipton and East Leeds. The packs had a different theme each week, based on the booklets of activities designed by local artists. Each pack was providing art materials and tips on creative projects, but also healthy eating recipes, gardening and growing kits with seeds and musical ideas and inspiration.
