Pyramid Open Show 2021
About the event
Leeds-based arts collective Pyramid is excited to present an online group exhibition exploring creative responses to a unique sensory call out of the colour orange, the sound of pink noise, and the word ‘ouch!’
Featuring the work of seven international artists, alabamathirteen, Henny Burnett, Honestly Casual Projects, Yael Kaplan, Katherine Lubar, Gabriel Massan and Diana Terry, the inaugural Pyramid Open Show showcases film, sculpture, photography, painting, drawing, movement and sound in a virtual gallery created through a collaborative dialogue between the exhibiting artists and the Pyramid curation team. In creating a sensory open call, the curators sought to disrupt and expand the conventional format of artist call-outs, inviting artists from anywhere in the world, working in any discipline, at any stage in their careers to submit work in response to colour, sound and text.
To celebrate the launch of the exhibition, Pyramid will be hosting an online event at 6pm GMT on Thursday 25th February via Zoom to meet the curation team behind the show and introduce the artists. The event is non-ticketed and all are welcome. The exhibition will then run from 26th February – 26th March 2021.
Details to access the Zoom event will be posted on 25th February on the exhibition page: https://pyramid.org.uk/open-show
The work in the exhibition is multi-sensory (video, audio and text). Visuals will have accompanying descriptive text. For the launch event, we will be using Zoom’s in-built live transcription software for captioning.
