Mothers in Lockdown Online Exhibition
About the event
Portraits of mothers working at home during the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic by photographer Fran Monks.
Mothers in Lockdown is an online exhibition in collaboration with the University of Huddersfield, Researcher Jim Reid and Photographer Fran Monks as they worked to document a snapshot of mothers during the pandemic. Jim’s findings reveal how women caring for their children were disproportionately affected during lockdown, juggling many roles and responsibilities – often at the cost of their own interests, hobbies and identity beyond being a caregiver.
The exhibition features 12 women’s accounts of their experiences and is sure to resonate with many living through uncertain times.
