Leeds Print Workshop currently offers half price concession tickets for those on certain income-based state benefits, which are subsidised by funding from Leeds City Council. About the event
Join us for a one day calligraphy taster course to learn Arabic calligraphy. During the first part of the day you will learn flourishes and basic lettering, before moving onto an abstract design. You will also learn how to write your own name and some basic techniques in decorative calligraphy.
In the second part of the day you will make a screen print with an abstract design and will learn how to use layering and colour to make your own individual prints.
You’ll be guided through creating imagery for screen printing, mixing inks, exposing screens and screen printing methods for printing onto paper.

Our aim is to bring printmaking to as many people as possible. By their nature, some printmaking processes involve an amount of physical effort. Leeds Print Workshop is based in a basement studio at Patrick Studios, a bespoke venue for artists operated by East Street Arts. It is wheelchair accessible, with a lift, larger than standard doors and accessible toilet facilities. We recognise that everybody’s accessibility needs may differ, therefore please email us at [email protected] to discuss any concerns you may have before booking. There is one blue badge car parking space to the side of the building on Rider Street, subject to availability.
