Mafwa Theatre & Leeds Print Workshop Art Club

This August, Mafwa Theatre and Leeds Print Workshop invite you to Gathered Colour, two days of free creative workshops exploring natural colour, dyeing and screen printing.

Across two workshops, we’ll discover how plants can be used to create natural dyes before using them to create screen prints and contribute to a large collaborative textile artwork. No experience is needed, just curiosity!

We’re offering two different workshops:

Monday 17th August – An Introduction to Natural Dyeing
Learn how natural dyes are made from plants, experiment with colour and create test pieces.

Wednesday 19th August – Screen Printing with Plant-Based Inks
Use natural colours to create screen prints and contribute to the final collaborative textile artwork.

Each workshop runs twice, once in the morning (10:30am – 12:30pm) and again in the afternoon (1:30pm – 3:30pm), so you can choose the time that suits you best.

You’re welcome to attend one workshop or both. We recommend attending one session on Monday and one on Wednesday, as the screen printing workshop builds on some of the ideas explored during the natural dyeing workshop.
