We have an exciting new opportunity for an artist to develop a site-responsive piece of public artwork for Sheepscar Beck in Mabgate, Leeds.

The commission is part of the creation of a new public space overlooking the beck. It is being delivered in partnership with Leeds City Council’s Flood Alleviation Team and supported by MAAP.

We’re looking for an artist interested in responding to the site, its stories and the communities around it. The selected artist wil be working with local residents and businesses through a series of workshops, gathering ideas and inspiration that will shape the final artwork.

The finished piece will take the form of metal panels integrated into the site’s fencing, drawing attention to the beck and the hidden infrastructure helping protect the area from flooding.

Artist fee: £4,550

Production budget: £15,000

Deadline: Monday 13 April, 9am
