The Middle Floor
The Middle Floor is an inclusive, not for profit independent artist development and
producing hub based in Leeds. We are dedicated to supporting the UK arts scene,
especially Leeds, and helping artists take the leap into the next stage of their career.
At the core of our work, we support independent artists and small-scale
organisations to make ambitious, meaningful work across a range of disciplines,
including dance and theatre. We are deeply committed to listening, empowering, and
building sustainable practices. We help artists to design their project, find the perfect
partners and manage the project once funding has been secured.
We also host a range of events and artist development programmes to help artists

Callum Holt
Callum Holt (he/him/his) is our Executive Director, responsible for supporting the smooth running of the organisation and leading our producing strand. Previously an independent producer, he has supported a number of independent artists and companies including Excessive Human Collective, Beyond Words, Various Creations and Mobius Dance and has produced festivals and scratch nights for organisations such as Yorkshire Dance and Leeds City Council (Leeds Light Night). He also runs artist development programmes, most notably his What Next Workshops which aim to give early career artists the basic knowledge and skills they need to kickstart a freelance career in the arts. He is particularly passionate about providing artists thesupport they need in order to make great projects, and in supporting projects that respond to social issues.
